Greenwich HVAC completed this AC equipment replacement on Flagler Drive in Greenwich, Connecticut for a local property manager. The existing central air-conditioning system had a failed compressor, and after reviewing the repair cost against the age and condition of the equipment, replacement was the more practical long-term recommendation.
The original setup included a hydronic air handler indoors with a matching outdoor condensing unit. We replaced the indoor equipment with a new First Company hydronic air handler and installed a new equipment box, safety pan, float switch, wet switch, condensate pump, and pump safety switch. The new air handler was reconnected to the existing electrical service and hydronic piping.
Outside, we installed a new American Standard 14 SEER condensing unit. The existing electrical connections and refrigerant line set were reused where appropriate, with the line set pressure-tested, evacuated, and charged with R-454B refrigerant. We also refreshed the outdoor base with new crushed bluestone and a composite equipment pad to provide a firm, level setting for the condenser.
After installation, the system was started, tested, and confirmed to be operating properly. The finished replacement gives the property manager and homeowner a reliable new cooling system while keeping the installation clean, level, protected, and serviceable.
